Views from The Bund in Shanghai

Shanghai Cartwheel
The Bund is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Shanghai. It is pretty incredible because of the two styles of architecture you can see from the waterfront. On one side you have buildings that have architecture that ranges from Roman, Neo-Classical to Gothic looking. On the other side, across the river you have the new modern architecture in an area called Pudong that Shanghai is becoming famous for. The Bund is also closer to Nanjing Road, which is considered one of the world’s busiest shopping streets (you will see our shopping adventures later).

Shanghai Skyline
We were wondering why everyone hates the Oriental Pearl Tower (the one with the two ball looking things) since we didn’t think it looked that bad during the day. Then we saw it at night. With the lights on it looks like a Christmas tree ornament.

Bank - The Bund
It seriously is cool how you have these renaissance looking buildings on one side and Christmas tree ornament looking ones on the other side of the river.

Jellyfish??
Eating things that scare me to death (due to them stinging me seven times once). Jellyfish.

Justin Likes the Gloves
Justin doesn’t like to get dirty.

Hung Likes The Meat
Finally the man himself, Shih-Hung. Deborah’s brother (whose wedding was the main reason we took the trip to China).

Pam Bites The Meat
This is Frank and Pam. Frank is Shih-Hung’s best man and Pam is Frank’s friend from their Dartmouth days. Both Hilarious.

Fried Banana Dessert
These were friend bananas. After eating one, I punched everyone at the table so I could eat theirs. So. Good.
